Chumoukedima, Nagaland, November 8 (HBTV): The general secretary of the NSCN-IM Thuingaleng Muivah has declared his commitment to the sovereignty, unique history, territory, ‘national flag’, and national constitution of ‘Nagalim.’

If India desires an honorable political agreement, Muivah stated, the government of India must respect and honor the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement in which, among others, the ‘Nagalim sovereign national flag’ and ‘Nagalim sovereign national constitution’ are officially recognized in the political agreement.

The longtime NSCN-IM leader issued a statement, a copy of which was received here on November 8, listing out the various agreements with the government of India such as the ceasefire in 1997 and the Framework Agreement of 2015. He explained some of the political events between the government of India and the group starting from the former prime minister of India PV Narashimha Rao to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

‘This statement is a declaration of my commitment that Nagalim and the NSCN shall defend and protect the Nagalim unique history, Nagalim sovereignty and freedom, Nagalim sovereign territory, Nagalim sovereign national flag, and Nagalim sovereign national constitution to the last, come what may,’ Muivah declared.

“Whether it is today or tomorrow,” he said, these aspects of the NSCN’s movement are non-negotiable.

‘Nagalim and the NSCN will not wait forever for the GoI (Government of India) to respect and honor the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, neither shall we wait for the GoI to recognize and acknowledge Nagalim sovereign national flag and Nagalim sovereign national constitution in the political agreement,’ Muivah stated.

The NSCN-IM general secretary stated: ‘If India sincerely desires an honorable political agreement, the government of India must respect and honor the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement in which, among others, the “Nagalim sovereign national flag and Nagalim sovereign national constitution” are officially recognized and acknowledged in the political agreement.’
